The physician will provide care for pulmonary diseases and disorders such as respiratory failure, emphysema, cystic fibrosis, lung cancer, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma and chronic bronchitis, among many other conditions affecting the respiratory system and care for patients suffering from multi-system failure and other life-threatening situations, Outpatient Pulmonary clinic, interpretation of pulmonary function tests, inpatient consults (Ward, and ICU), routine pulmonary procedures. There is an Internal Medicine Residency Program and preceptorship for the pulmonary rotation for both students and Residents is expected. Adjunct faculty appointment at UAMS is available; pulmonary lectures are provided by the VHSO Pulmonary Staff. Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Call coverage is weekly (Monday to Monday) with every other weekend.
