The Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist works in the Operating Room under the supervision of the attending supervising anesthesiologist assigned to the case. The incumbent also participates in the administration of anesthetics in the Outpatient (Pre-op) Surgery and Intensive Care Unit environment, and in areas where Anesthesiology and Perioperative Care Service is responsible for providing assessment of, consultation for, and preparation of patients for anesthesia. During Night and Weekends the CRNA acts as the sole inhouse provider for airway management issues in all hospital areas. During Night and Weekends the CRNA is supervised by the attending for all procedures in OR and NORA.
