The Sleep Medicine Section and Medicine Service of the VA San Diego Healthcare System (VASDHCS) is seeking a board eligible or board certified physician in Sleep Medicine with primary training in Internal Medicine or Pulmonary Critical care medicine to serve as Section Chief. This position requires a clinical appointment with our academic affiliate, the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. The Sleep Medicine Section Chief, directly reports to the Chief of Medicine. Responsible for the overall administrative and clinical management of the Sleep Medicine Section. Direct supervision of all staff physicians, nurse practitioners and the Supervisory RRT in Sleep Medicine Section. Includes performance appraisals, annual and mid-cycle clinical evaluations. Clinical supervision of all provider staff. Attends meetings (facility, VISN, VACO) and may have committee assignments. Responsible for supervision of any trainees provided by the academic affiliate and rotate through Sleep Medicine Section.
