The Sr. Director of Coding Services will be responsible for developing and executing key performance indicators within the Enterprise Coding Services solution. This involves leading multiple levels of subordinate leaders who will be working primarily as a telecommuter or onsite from multiple geographic locations in reengineering applicable processes and organizational design to achieve optimal client and Conifer performance. The position is responsible for implementing leading practices and delivering on all Service Level Agreements based on the client engagement. The position is also responsible for compliance with CMS, other regulatory agency guidelines, and Conifer guidelines. This position is responsible for developing and executing against associated budgets, ensures all spending is within budgetary guidelines and operational margins are met or exceeded. Overall, the position is responsible for planning, organizing and directing all functions within Coniferâ��s CRI Platform while serving as an integral part of the Coding team for assessment of potential clients, review potential areas of improvement and make recommendation as part of the overall plan of action.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operations. Leads all Coding operational assessments. Analyzes data and develops staffing and cost models for delivery of a complete Coding solution. Analyzes outcome metrics and executes leading Coding practices to gain optimal, compliant revenue cycle performance. Responsible for the overall leadership of the specific Coding division including development of subordinate leadership team. Responsible for the delivery of all service level agreements and established process and outcome metrics. Develops future growth strategy of Coding services and executes against that strategy.
Administration. Establishes and executes against operational budgets. Responsible for Coding servicesâ�� profitability, growth and development. Represents Conifer at applicable leadership and/or client meetings relating to Coding. Works collaboratively with facility and Conifer leadership to meet comprehensive revenue cycle metrics and SLAâ��s. Responsible for supplier/vendor governance.
Client Relationships. Encourages and involves others in a tactful, cooperative manner by using appropriate interpersonal communication skills and teamwork. Responsible for ensuring client referencability and establishes relationships conducive to expanding Conifer presence in client organization.
Education & Growth. Pursues professional growth and development and shares ongoing education with employees to ensure continued professional certifications are maintained and leading practices are deployed. Develops and mentors subordinate leaders to ensure delivery of world class service to clients. Responsible for attracting and retaining talent at all levels.
Full financial responsibility for revenue, budget and expense management.
This position carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with guidelines, policies and procedures and applicable laws. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
Thorough knowledge of Coding regulatory and Compliance requirements.

Ability to identify and develop potential Coding business opportunities
Thorough knowledge of HIM regulatory and Compliance requirements.

Thorough knowledge of JCAHO survey requirements and experience in orchestrating successful JCAHO surveys.
Experience with multiple HIM technology solutions and ability to implement such solutions.
Knowledge of DRG classification and reimbursement structures.
Intimate knowledge of Federal, JCAHO Guidelines, and State regulations regarding Acute Care and Critical Access Hospitals and ability to execute and lead a HIM department abiding by aforementioned guidance.
Ability to execute a Shared Services Coding model.
Ability to communicate and form working relationships with staff, clients, and RCM partners at all levels.
Experience with supplier governance and management.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality regarding patient/employee/facility/corporate information 100% of time.
Ability to manage virtual and local facility leaders and staff.
Demonstrates accountability for all areas managed.
Excellent organizational skills for the execution of leading HIM practices. Be able to work productively with no direct supervision.

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience required to perform the job.
A minimum of 7 years experience in successful execution and leadership of a multi-facility HIM solution
Bachelors/Associate degree in Health Information Management ; a related advanced degree preferred
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or (RHIT)
