The Staff Nurse provides direct and indirect nursing care to residential patients requiring rehabilitation. Responsibilities include initial and ongoing patient assessment; medication and treatment planning; provision of patient education and psycho-educational groups; management of therapeutic milieu; documentation. Provide oversight and direction for other staff members such as licensed practical nurses and students. They may have daily duties assigned by charge nurse or supervisor. Provide stable rehabilitation, education on medication, and diagnostic symptomology; advise the patient about constructive coping techniques. Patient populations include but are not limited to alcohol/drug withdrawal and other mental health conditions. Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with others. Demonstrate skill , to initiate and lead groups of patients, and/or other personnel. Use sound clinical judgement in assessing, planning, implementing, documenting and evaluating nursing care. Apply current concepts and findings from research and/or studies to practice and share clinical expertise with professional and supportive personnel. Accurately documents and reports care and identifies needed areas of care unique to each patient. Demonstrate expertise and collaborates with colleagues. Work Schedule: Variable 12-hour shifts: tours of duty includes weekend rotations, day, evening and/or night tours depending on organizational needs (position requires flexibility in schedule) Financial Disclosure Report: Not required
