Registered Nurse - Inpatient Mental Health
The Acute Recovery Center (ARC) inpatient psychiatric unit is a 40 bed unit divided into ARC I and ARC II. The ARC treats veterans with a wide assortment of acute psychiatric illnesses. These may include dementia, schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, suicide ideation and/or attempt, alcohol and substance abuse/detoxification among others. The RN is also responsible for overseeing both LPNs and CNAs in the care of our veterans. The duties of the Mental Health Nurse consist of but is not limited to the following: - Responsible for the delivery of quality nursing care including: documenting observations, patient assessments, nursing care for the veterans with acute and chronic mental illnesses. - Must fully participate in all 3 Parts of Preventive Management of Disruptive Behavior re
