Provides direction of all components of the Service Line for cancer services, including genetics, prevention and detection, research, diagnosis and treatment, rehabilitation and follow up, survivorship support programs, tumor registry, accreditation, evaluation and quality standards management, and expansion, growth and development for Service Line excellence, stability and viability.
Maintains accountability for program infrastructure through project and committee management for clinical, research, psychosocial, marketing, financial and quality components of each program. Works collaboratively within hospital, with physicians and other team members, state and national groups to facilitate the highest quality care and services.
Responsible for the oversight and successful performance in the areas of patient care services, nursing operations, and patient safety/nursing quality outcomes.
Guides and coaches each nurse manager in developing a fiscally responsible unit/department structure that supports a patient centered care delivery model, a staffing and scheduling model that provides the appropriate number and skill mix of staff, and a patient safety/nursing quality program that produces outcomes exceeding targeted national benchmark levels for nurse satisfaction, patient satisfaction, and quality outcomes measures.
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
Master's degree in relevant field required. Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Georgia.
Seven years of Registered Nursing experience of which two years must be in a supervisory or managerial capacity.

Reporting to the Vice-President of Nursing Services, the Specialty Director serves as the senior nursing leader of the site, working collaboratively with physician and operational leaders to ensure oncology service line excellence, stability and viability. The incumbent will provide strategic nursing leadership for all components of the oncology service line to include: infusion center, clinical lab, radiation oncology center, and provider clinics including: medical, surgical and hematological oncology clinics, and collaboration with diagnostic services. The incumbent is also responsible for specialty and site associated quality and accreditation standards, patient experience, and nursing engagement. Additionally the role will be responsible for expansion, growth and process improvement initiatives.
