The Registered Nurse (Nurse Recruiter) will report to the Associate Chief Nurse, Nursing Operations, PCS, CAVHCS. The Nurse Recruiter is responsible for administration, management, and evaluation of the Nursing Recruitment Program and for planning, coordinating, and evaluating programs relating to nurse recruitment/retention. Core competencies includes acquiring and demonstration clinical expertise and knowledge of health care programs to improve the quality of patient care, use of resources, and facilitate compliance with internal and external requirement and standards; acquiring and demonstrating strength in the areas of interpersonal relations, critical thinking, problem solving, and conflict resolutions; collaborating with other Nurse Recruiters, Human Resources Management (HRM), Nurse Managers, and to other administrative staff as needed to ensure staffing needs are met. Duties include but not limited to: Preparing vacancy announcements. Reviewing applicants and checking references, conducting interviews, assisting applicants with appointments, working closely with the HR/Staffing Specialist/Assistant and collaborating with managers to develop, implement and evaluate goals and objectives for the Recruitment Program. Support of recruitment activities such as job fairs and engagement events. Nurse engagement activities, oversight of various recognition programs, and succession planning. Utilizes the nursing process based on the ANA Standards of Nursing Practice. Demonstrates grade-appropriate and consistent critical thinking skills. Treats all customers (internal and external) with dignity and respect. Demonstrates responsibility and accountability in maintaining confidential agreements, selected applicant packets, Interview Score Sheet, Performance Based Interview (PBI) questions delivered to HR. Identifies potential and actual problems involving resources and/or safety. Participates in seeking new knowledge relative to national recruitment/retention issues, and mandatory education activities in a self-directed manner. Provides for own continuing professional development by literature review, continuing education certification, and formal education. Consistently demonstrates effective communication skills and professional behaviors that promote cooperation and teamwork with internal and external customers. Demonstrates leadership in performance improvement activities relative to recruitment/retention Self-directed in sharing responsibility for research activities within the work group. Other duties as assigned Preferred Experience: Have a Master's Degree in Nursing Nursing recruitment experience.
