JOB SUMMARY

The RN Lactation Consultant utilizes the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of needs related to breastfeeding and developmental care. The RN Lactation Consultant develops a breastfeeding program to include parent and staff education, updating of protocols, consultation and follow-up. The RN Lactation Consultant prepares an individualized plan of care to assist mothers with breastfeeding providing one-on-one beside consultation and in-hospital follow-up. The RN Lactation Consultant communicates with families and assists them in allaying apprehensions.

The ideal candidate for the RN Lactation Consultant role will be able to evaluate the effects of breastfeeding program and redesign as needed and also, participate in data collection and neonatal outcomes reporting related to breastfeeding.
 
Location/Facility: Baylor Scott & White All Saints Medical Center - Fort Worth

Specialty/Department/Practice: Bili Clinic

Shift/Schedule: 24 hours/week Part Time Weekend Days Fri-Sun or Sat-Mon 0800-1630

QUALIFICATIONS

- EDUCATION - Associate's

- MAJOR - Nursing

- EXPERIENCE - 2+ years of RN experience

- CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -
       International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) required

       Registered Nurse (RN) license required
