Summary
Responsible for assuring that the drug therapy needs of the patients are met. Ensures the prompt and accurate dispensing and delivery of medications to patients. Supervises the work of supportive personnel. Processes physician orders and reviews patient medication profiles for appropriateness of therapy. Performs clinical pharmacy interventions as assigned. Acts as drug information resource to patients, medical staff, nursing staff and ancillary department personnel. Participates in the department's performance improvement activities. Reports to the Director of Pharmacy.
Qualifications:
Education
Required: Pharm. D. or BS in pharmacy
Experience
Required: Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred: ASHP accredited Pharmacy Practice Residency preferred or 3 years clinical hospital experience preferred
Certifications
Required: Pharmacy License; BLS within 30 days of hire;
Preferred: Board Certification in Specialty area, CGP, ACLS, etc.
Skills
Required:Must possess good oral and written communications skills in the English language and able to communicate. With all levels of the organization. Good organizational skills preferred. Basic computer skills required.
