Cardiologist (Cardiac Heart Failure) - Opportunity in Beautiful Washington D.C. The Washington D.C. VA Medical Center is seeking 2 Clinical Cardiologist join our busy inpatient and outpatient Stage C (pre-transplant or VAD) CHF program. We have an increased need for physicians in Cardiology due to increase in COVID-19 cases. We are active in VA Cooperative and industry sponsored research and have a FT Cardiology Research Associate to assist with research. We are affiliated with four local medical schools and part of a large (18 general fellows plus others) fellowship based across the street at Washington Hospital Center, one of the largest catherization labs in the Southeast. The D.C. VAMC provides all tertiary cardiology care with three staff interventionalists and a large electrophysiology program. We are fortunate to have experienced NPs assisting with the CHF service both inpatient and outpatient. There are many opportunities for teaching at all levels, as well as academic appointment commensurate with experience. The position includes: Coronary Care Unit rounding and participation in night and weekend General Cardiology Call. Inpatient rounding on the CHF service, which is a non VAD, non -transplant service. Both procedures are referred out, including their post care. Many patients have CRT/implanted devices and we work closely with the Electrophysiology Service. We are open to experienced candidates or recent grads and have a current need due to retirements.
