The Vanderbilt Voice Center at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Bill Wilkerson Center for Otolaryngology and Communication Sciences, would like to announce the immediate opening of a full-time Voice-Speech-Language-Pathologist Clinical Fellowship position dedicated to the evaluation and treatment of individuals with voice disorders. The Vanderbilt Voice Center is a multidisciplinary outpatient care center staffed by 4 Laryngologists, 2 Laryngology Fellows and 7 Voice Speech-Language Pathologists and Singing Voice Specialists.
The position offers the opportunity to work within a state-of-the-art voice center as an integrated member of an accomplished team of voice professionals cooperating in academic and research endeavors. This clinical fellowship candidate will work alongside our Voice Center team, Head and Neck team and Craniofacial team and be challenged to cultivate advanced clinical skills in the evaluation, treatment and triage of patients in each of these specialty care areas.
Specific skills to be developed include,but are not limited to, rigid and flexible endoscopy in adult and pediatric populations, pre and post-operative laryngectomy management withtracheoesophageal prostheses, acoustic and aerodynamic voice analysis, motor-speech examination, comprehensive voice rehabilitation techniques (resonant voice, flow phonation, etc) and evidence based problem solving as a member of a large but collaborative team. Participation in ongoing clinical research at our center will also provide this candidate with the opportunity to present at local and national meetings.
Candidates with prior experience in the evaluation and treatment of voice disorders through both a strong academic background and additional clinical experiences specifically in Voice are strongly encouraged to apply, but we are most interested to meet a highly productive candidate with strong interpersonal skills seeking challenging clinical fellowship with specific interest in diagnostic, habilitative, and rehabilitative voice care.
