The Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) is responsible for triaging employees that become injured on the job and performing employee immunizations and screenings. As an instrumental member of our Human Resource and Safety Team, the Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) is expected to work collaboratively with leadership, operations and other functional areas, and employees to promote a healthy and safe work environment, while still efficiently meeting the business needs. The OHN will help workers remain healthy and productive with a focus on employee protection from work-related and environmental hazards and prevention of illness and injury in the workplace. The Occupational Health Nurse (OHN) administratively reports to the Director of Human Resources and clinically to the Chief Medical Officer.
20 hours per week.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to employee immunizations and screenings;
Maintain appropriate records associated with the responsibilities of the position in a confidential manner;
Assist with the administration of the site specific annual Health & Wellness Fair;
Administer employee immunization programs (such as Influenza & Hepatitis B), screenings (TB and Mask fit test), and post offer physicals.
Maintain current awareness of applicable federal, state and local health, industrial hygiene and safety regulations;
Maintain adequate amounts of Health Clinic supplies such as routine OTC meds and bandaging, for emergency use and ensure that all medical supplies & equipment are current, in good working order and calibrated, if indicated;
Develop creative, engaging programs by which to increase awareness of health risks and the overall wellness of Company employees; develop an awareness of Health needs of the workforce and individuals;
Assist with on-site training related to worker safety programs;
Ability to interact with all levels of associates to foster behavioral change related to employee Health;
Manage and administer the site specific workers’ compensation program, including evaluation and initial treatment of injuries, maintenance and filing of required forms, coordinating with workers’ compensation insurer, and where appropriate, assisting with the return to work program at the facility;
Ensure employees have appropriate CPR Certification, assist with annual training and maintain records.
Associate or BS Nursing degree required.
Ocupational Health Nurse certification desired but not required.
2 plus years nursing experience in a comparable work environment, or equivalent required.
Valid California Registered Nurse license.
Current CPR certification.
Valid CA Driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
Ability to support different clinic locatons in Marin (San Rafael, Novato and Larkspur)
Mask Fit Trainer certificate preferred, but not required.
CPR Trainer certificate preferred, but not required.
Excellent verbal and written skills.
Strong attention to detail abilities.
Prior work experience conducting staff training highly desired.
Must be able to work independently, with written protocols.
Must be sensitive to ethnic and cultural differences and their relevance to health care.
Bi-lingual English-Spanish desired but not required.
