FT Days, 40 hours per week
You Will Be Responsible For:
Â·Demonstrate knowledge of medications and their correct administration based on the age of the patient and his or her clinical condition. Administer medications per physicianâ™s order and monitor patientâ™s response to medications.
Â·Perform patient care responsibilities, considering needs specific to the standard of care for the patientâ™s age.
Â·Demonstrate ability to perform a head-to-toe assessment and reassessment on all assigned patients as per policy.
Â·Demonstrate ability to revise the plan of care as indicated by the patientâ™s response to daily treatment and evaluate the overall plan for effectiveness. Recognize significant changes in patientâ™s condition and take appropriate nursing action, as defined by nursing practice.
Â·Formulate a teaching plan based upon identified learning needs and evaluate the effectiveness of learning. Include family in teaching, as appropriate.
Â·Communicate appropriately and clearly to supervisors, co-workers, and physicians.
Â·Consult other departments as appropriate to provide for an interdisciplinary approach to the patientâ™s needs.
Â·Provide care appropriate to the condition and age of the patient, including pediatric, geriatric, and general population.
Â·Demonstrate ability to assist physicians with procedures. Perform services requiring technical and manual skills.
Â·Treat patients and their families with respect and dignity; ensure patient confidentiality.
Â·Interact professionally with patient/family and involve them in the formation of a plan of care.
Â·Maintain a good working relationship both within the department and with other departments.
Â·Demonstrate documentation that meets current standards and policies.
Â·Identify and address psychosocial needs of patients and families.
Â·Manage and operate equipment safely and correctly.
Â·Coordinate and supervise patient care as necessary. Delegate appropriately and clearly.
Â·Conduct end of shift nursing report in a timely, concise manner.
Â·Proactive in identifying opportunities to help someone.
Â·Communicate with social service/discharge planner regarding both in-hospital and post discharge needs.
What you will need:
Current North Carolina RN license required.
Current American Heart Association BLS certification required.
Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing required.
Additional languages preferred.
Previous Surgical Services experience preferred.
Current American Heart Association ACLS and PALS preferred
Provides direct and indirect patient care in the clinic setting. Provides care that reflects initiative, flexibility and responsibility indicative of professional expectation with a minimum of supervision. Determines priorities of care based on physical and psychosocial needs, as well as factors influencing patient flow through the system. Communicates with outpatient clinic physicians about changes in patientâ™s status, symptomatology and results of diagnostic studies. Is able to respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment.
