Performs duties to support the goals and objectives of the Education, Quality and System Support Department in its efforts to provide education, development and quality assurance to Revenue Management employees and Business Units. Responsible for all aspects of training in software applications (both in-house and external) to support Revenue Management requirements and Geisinger Health System initiatives / mission via instructor led training, onsite support for clinical staff and development of technical documentation. This multifaceted role requires the candidate to interact professionally with healthcare professionals on a regular basis. Works under the general supervision and administrative direction of the appropriate Team Leader.
Responsible for collaboratively working with Geisinger Health System and as appropriate external vendors and non-Geisinger clients, to produce learning materials which effectively support the training and development of GHS’s employees.
Must have advanced working knowledge of Instructional Technology and Adult Learning Theory. The individual must be highly motivated and capable of keeping current with emerging theories, applications, and instructional technologies. Due to the variety of project types, flexibility, adaptability and creativity are required to work in this dynamic and challenging environment.
Applicants must have and be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of customer service skills, HIPAA guidelines, Epic registration, coverage/insurance entry/selection, and insurance eligibility processing.
Reports to Senior Director, Revenue Management Education, Quality and System Support (or designated Lead/Training)

Demonstrates positive team attitude, Patient/Employee focus.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel skills are a plus.
Demonstrates the ability to communicate professionally with all levels of management.
Abides by HIPAA regulations and displays a strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Associate’s degree/Bachelor’s degree in business, education, quality or related field required.
Minimum of two years’ experience in education/training required.
In lieu of degree, may consider five years of Revenue Cycle and/or education/quality experience. HFMA Revenue Cycle Representative Certification (CRCR) acquired within 1 year of hire date.
Strong knowledge of customer service skills, HIPAA guidelines, Epic registration, coverage/insurance entry/selection, and insurance eligibility processing, knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a healthcare field
Extensive travel is required across Geisinger Health System Region, some work may be off-business hours and/or weekend hours. Some overnights may be required. Also requires standing for extended periods during training sessions. Requires frequent extended or changed hours as well as on call rotation for CORE iPayment.
