As a member of a research team, the Statistical Genetic Analyst I will conduct basic genomic and biostatistical analyses to identify novel markers of Alzheimer's disease risk and resilience. The successful candidate will: have the opportunity to work on large-scale consortium datasets; work in a team environment with supervision; apply existing genetics and statistical tools; prepare and implement analysis plans; summarize and present results for written reports and oral presentations; and assist in manuscript and grant writing. Projects include genome-wide associations, with some exposure to whole exome/genome sequencing and RNA sequencing datasets.
Bachelor's degree in statistics, computer science, bioinformatics, human genetics, or a related field.
Scripting languages: Python or Perl.
Statistical packages: R (preferred), SAS, STATA, or SPSS
Collaborates as a member of a research team on the design of a research project.
Assists the research team in the design of methods to collect information.
Participates in the development of operations and procedures for the collection, editing, verification and management of data.
Collaborates as a member of a research team on the implementation and analysis of a research project.
Implements analysis, including data verification and data correction using appropriate hardware and software for the management and analysis of data.
Manipulates standard data formats to create input and output formats for software.
Assists in the publication of research projects.
Participates in the preparation of reports and presentations summarizing data analysis results using appropriate methods and techniques.
