JOB SUMMARY:
Develops and directs community relations strategies and activities to increase Geisinger’s brand awareness, preference and reputation in our local markets. Working with local/platform leadership, clinical institutes, government affairs, fundraising, the health plan, the medical school and marketing and communications leadership, develops annual strategies to maintain and expand Geisinger’s good will in the communities we serve while furtherance advancing the organization’s strategic plan. This includes negotiating and managing the fulfillment of Geisinger’s sponsorships, community partnerships, and memberships with community organizations. Also includes leveraging Geisinger’s internal stakeholders to engage local communities. Supports business strategies by leveraging community partnerships. Maintains two-way communications with community leaders and stakeholders to provide valuable intelligence to anticipate community needs and community issues and proposes appropriate Geisinger response. Supports Geisinger’s community This includes determining appropriate leadership representation on local boards and committees, participation in significant local events and managing relationships with key community relationships. The role includes oversight the opportunity to create Geisinger-sponsored events and activities that promote Geisinger’s position in the communities it serves. Work includes message development and delivery, stakeholder engagement, contract management and fulfillment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Master’s degree preferred; BA or BS with focus on public relations or communications required.
Seven to ten years of progressive experience in brand and marketing management with a demonstrated track record of success; knowledge of the health industry preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work is typically performed in an office environment. Independent travel to other sites throughout the health system and surrounding communities required.
