In oneï¿½s language of specialty, conducts medical interpreting for patients and their families. Assesses and monitors patients' understanding of information conveyed. Records and monitors interpretation activities according to hospital and department standards. May be required to translate written documents.
High School graduate or equivalent required. Must be able to read and write in both English and the language of specialty.
Fully bi-lingual and bi-cultural in language of specialty. One year bi-lingual medical interpretation experience preferred.
Must have a Medical Interpreter Training Certificate trained in language of specialty.
