CENTRAL STERILE TECHNICIANS

East Meadow, NY. With a strong commitment to raising the bar for healthcare in our community, Nassau University Medical Center is a Level I Trauma Center and a 530-bed teaching hospital affiliated with Northwell Health (North Shore/LIJ) and Stony Brook University.

We currently have exceptional opportunities for full time Central Sterile Technicians to assure the delivery of sterile, functional instrumentation, equipment and supplies for procedures. Specifically,

• Select instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures and sterilize or use high level disinfectant for surgical procedure use
• Assist with cleaning, sterilizing, sorting, storing, and the maintenance of instruments and equipment following surgical procedures.
• Assist in maintaining aseptic techniques in cleaning and preparing instrumentation for sterilization
• Maintain all department sterilizers routinely and maintains records of all sterilizer use and test results

We require:

A High School Diploma along with either:

One year of satisfactory experience as a central sterile technician

or

Successful completion of a Certificate Program in Central Sterile Processing
or

Continuing possession of a certification as a Certified Registered Central Service Technician issued by the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM)
