JOB TITLE: Registered Nurse (Inpatient) Bed Coordinator LOCATION: Geisinger Medical Center DEPARTMENT: Geisinger Placement Services WORK SCHEDULE: Days/Evenings WORK TYPE: Full Time
JOB SUMMARY: Coordinates patient flow and inpatient capacity management in coordination with physicians and procedural units and inpatient nursing units. Ensures compliance with the directives, policies, applicable laws and regulations. Performs duties to provide the highest level of patient care, optimum patient satisfaction and customer satisfaction. Responsible for ensuring the very best patient/family experience by optimizing all customer interaction. Foster a positive work environment through mutual support and cooperation and adheres to GHS Service Standards. Directly accountable to the Director, Patient Placement. COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS: Demonstrates good organizational skills and effective communication skills. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: RN with current Pennsylvania licensure or eligibility required. BSN or evidence of a strong continuing education track which is applicable to degree status preferred. Minimum three years progressive experience in nursing required. Previous management experience preferred. WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Work is typically performed in a clinical environment.
