Role Description The Security Lead is primarily responsible for managing and coordinating security activities across the Epic implementation. In conjunction with the Epic application teams and 3rd party vendor teams, the Security Lead manages the development and assignment of security templates to ensure appropriate access for end-users. The Security Team is responsible for developing and coordinating with application and training teams to define and align workflow needs with security templates. Essential Functions: The Security Lead is primarily responsible for managing and coordinating security access for end-users according to designated application workflows and templates. In addition to the duties discussed in the Role Description, the Security Lead is responsible for the following:
1) Security Management: Ensuring all security environments are properly installed, configured, and tested to meet project and strategic requirements by application Coordinating and managing work team deliverables including design documentation, build audits, testing plans and scripts, training curriculums and activation plans Managing security team to ensure appropriate permissions and security control access Monitoring and coordinating the design, development and any recommendations to the security systems solutions to ensure proprietary/confidential data and systems are protected Managing identified issues by project and application team and developing mitigation/resolution plans Establishing ownership of each security class and developing appropriate share security classification for end-users Working with application and training teams to develop a process for assigning security templates to end users based on roles and training completion Advising Project Leadership on developing, implementing and maintaining security procedures and policies Ensuring all security decisions and templates support RWJBH policies Providing go-live support for users on new applications, including functionality Providing on-call support for application through go-live and post go-live
2) Project Management: Documenting changes or updates to security controls Escalating risks or decisions that need attention by the Project Leadership Teams Submitting status reports to the Project Leadership Team to communicate any changes or updates to security controls Reporting and presenting completed deliverables to appropriate stakeholders Managing Security Analyst to complete necessary tasks according to implementation strategy and timeline Managing day-to-day activities and deliverables of the team in alignment with the workplan Collaborating with application team leads to ensure proper documentation of security templates & sub-templates are performed by security leads for system maintenance Qualifications Education Minimum: Bachelor s degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience Work Experience: Preferred: Five (5) years relevant experience in security management, preferably in a health care setting Minimum: Three (3) years relevant experience in security management, preferably in a health care setting Licenses and Certifications: Minimum: Obtaining applicable certification will be an expectation of the role Applicant is expected to maintain certification as current by completing New Version Training (NVT), as applicable
