Raises Major Gifts by identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding donors to successfully achieve established long-term giving objectives. The position plans, coordinates and oversees all special events, from annual donor recognition initiatives to a major fundraising gala each year including the solicitation of major event sponsorships and ticket sales, and the management of the Foundation Gala Committee. Responsible for establishment and oversight of the CHRISTUS St. Vincent Employee and Physician Giving Campaigns and initiatives including development of associate committees, recognition events, mailings and stewardship. This position also is responsible for spearheading efforts to initiate a comprehensive annual appeal campaign and manages all direct mail for the Foundation.
This position works closely with the hospital Marketing Department to create a collaborative yet unique program for the Foundation including direct mailings, marketing publications, media relations and public relations. Additionally, works directly with the Foundation Board of Directors in the role of Corporate Secretary for the Foundation. This role includes oversight, management and documentation of all Board and Board Committee Meetings, Board Orientation, Foundation Board events, annual Board calendar and all Board communication. This position coordinates staff efforts to create, implement and report on the Foundation Strategic Plan and manages the Foundation Annual Calendar. This position supervises the Foundation Development Associate and any intern that may be assigend.
EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree preferred in an appropriate major, preferably in business, health care, communications, or public administration. Four (4) years equivalent experience will substitute for Degree.
Demonstrates success in identifying and raising funds from major prospects; in researching and securing sponsorship grants
Ability to perform high- level analysis of prospects and develop solicitation strategies to meet donor needs
Demonstrates professional competency skills in events management
Excellent writing skills
Strong planning, organizing, interpersonal communication and computer skills

Ability to organize and monitor projects to ensure their timely completion
Demonstrates ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with staff, physicians, Board members, volunteers, donors, foundation, corporate program officers and decision makers
Knowledge of fundraising databases, particularly Raiser's Edge
Knowledge of volunteer management, community relations, public relations, marketing and special event
EXPERIENCE: Minimum 10 years progressive office experience in fundraising, public relations, event management, Board oversight or related work to include experience in not-for-profit accounting plus two years in a supervisory/management capacity.
