Assists the outpatient Pain Clinic in accomplishing the goals of efficiently refilling prescriptions, and all associated functions that are entailed in that process.
EDUCATION: High School diploma or equivalent is required.
CERTIFICATION/LICENSES: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), Maintains current registration with the NM Board of Pharmacy.
EXPERIENCE: One-year experience as a pharmacy technician required.
SKILLS: Effective verbal and interpersonal skills are required. Basic computer skills are required. Familiarity with medical terminology and pharmaceutical math are required.

Bloodborne pathogen -- B (Occasional exposure in daily duties. Little expected risk but may be exposed unexpectedly to potential infectious materials. Exposure may be superficial and limited to a small amount of fluid.) Close quarters in a busy environment. Low risk for infectious disease. Possible exposure to video display terminals.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to move throughout the hospital at a rapid pace to an entire shift. Hearing must be sufficient to answer telephones and eyesight perform aseptic technique. Must be able to raise moderate loads (less than 50 lbs.) using sound body mechanics alone or with assistance.
