The Director of Risk Management at Saint Luke's Hospital directs the organization’s Risk Management Program and patient safety activities through processes designed to reduce the probability of adverse events and to reduce the severity and impact of losses once they occur. Saint Luke’s Hospital is a tertiary and quatinary academic medical center in the urban center of Kansas City, Missouri. This position receives, investigates and analyzes patient safety and risk management inquiries from senior leadership, hospital staff, patients and families and provides prompt follow up. This position manages serious adverse events, disclosure communications with patients and families and conducts root cause analyses. This position manages the Professional and General liability claims and litigation for Saint Luke’s Hospital under the direction of the VP of Risk and Claims Management.
Requirements include a Jurisprudence Doctorate Degree. Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred. Certification as Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) preferred with 3-5 years applicable experience.
