The Emergency Department Manager reports to the Emergency Department Director and has 24-hour operational responsibility for the Emergency Department.
The Emergency Department is an active Level II Trauma Center receiving transfers for various specialty services such as Neurosurgery, Cardiology, Orthopedics, and Pediatrics.
The Manager of the Emergency Department must have the knowledge and have the ability to demonstrate Emergency Department operations, best-demonstrated practices, collaboration, and teamwork dynamics are essential requirements of this position.
The Emergency Department manager is required to be a leader in hospital disaster preparedness.
Current California Registered Nurse, or Eligible for CA state RN License
Preferred: As above with CEN and NRP
Minimum: 5 years in Emergency Nursing or other related nursing specialties
Preferred: Hospital management or supervisory experience
Minimum: A.D.N. with BSN in process
Minimum: Emergency and Trauma clinical skills, ability to teach
