Shriners Hospitals for Children Northern California, the premier pediatric burn, orthopaedic, spinal cord injury and pediatric subspecialties medical center, is looking for a highly motivated individual with previous supervisory experience to fill this leadership role in Engineering.
The Engineering Supervisor will plan and direct work assignments and projects of assigned staff; facilitate the completion of work orders and preventative maintenance work by maintaining stock levels and expediting delivery of materials required by staff; act as a resource to staff in completing their assigned duties; and attend weekly meetings with the Facilities Management team to remain abreast of all issues pertaining to the priorities of the department and contribute to team-based decisions.
Must have the ability to troubleshoot, repair, regulate and control electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, ventilating systems and portable equipment; read and comprehend schematics, blueprints and shop drawings; and accurately determine time and materials required for a job. Requires knowledge of electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, heating, air conditioning and ventilating systems, safe operation and repairs and the ability to supervise staff effectively and with consistency.
Must possess a Universal Refrigerant Recovery Certificate (CFC license), working knowledge of Title 22 requirements for healthcare, as well as an understanding of federal regulations, local ordinances and hospital rules for compliance with environmental standards set by Federal, State and local agencies with authority over Hospital buildings. Prefer 10 years of institutional employment as a maintenance engineer, preferably in a hospital setting, completion of Certified Health Care Senior Mechanic certification issued by the California Society for Healthcare Engineering (CSHE), and completion of an accredited apprenticeship program.
