Crescent Pines Hospital, a member of the Southern Crescent Behavioral Health System, is searching for an experienced Utilization Review (UR) Coordinator to work in our UR Department on a part-time basis.
What Role Will You Play?
UR Coordinators at Crescent Pines are responsible for working with our inter-disciplinary treatment teams to ensure the care recommended for each patient care is approved by third party payers such as insurance companies. UR Coordinators review clinical information and present it to payers for review and ensure results are communicated to the team. This position is part time and is scheduled to work 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. Monday - Friday. The future may hold an opportunity for full time employment.

The UR Coordinator is responsible for completing the following duties and tasks:
Work with the Assessment Center to stay abreast of admissions and/or pending authorizations.
Conduct concurrent and extended stay reviews with insurance companies for assigned patients.
Prepare and submit appeals, coordinating collection of all pertinent data to support the patient's need for care.
Maintain logs of review and maintain other appropriate records of the Utilization Review department.
Communicate pertinent third party payer issues to doctor and treatment team.
Attend daily treatment team meetings to discuss acuity issues, payer needs and gather information for reviews.
Work independently in gathering information for reviews from the patient record, taking the initiative to seek information from members of the treatment team.
Communicate insurance information to team members, including benefits and levels of care offered.
Perform internal utilization reviews as indicated.
Prepare any reports assigned or requested by Director of Utilization Review.
What Does Crescent Pines Require for this Role?
A bachelor's degree in medical or social services area is preferred for this role. An equivalent combination education and experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
