Responsible for the assessment, recommendation, the appropriate and timely discharge and transfer arrangements for patients in the ED that have been placed on a legal hold, have an underlying psych condition, and/or present under the influence of a substance (alcohol or drug).

Able to assess and recommend resources for ED patients for safe and timely discharge planning from the emergency department.

A core member of the ED care team that assists with mitigating social issues that ED patient present with in order to compliment the medical treatment being received.
