Under the direction of the Vice President/Chief Pharmacy Officer, Enterprise Pharmacy, the scope and breadth of responsibility for the System Director, Medication Distribution, Enterprise Pharmacy(EP), is overall strategy development, execution and administrative oversight and leadership for Enterprise Pharmacy’s Medication Distribution department which includes VITALine, Specialty, CareSite Retail/Mail Order networks as well as the system Patient Assistance program. This position has to maintain high functioning departments that demonstrate excellence in all aspects of quality, clinical, operational and financial performance while maintaining high level service standards.
Demonstrates excellence in the supervision, planning and administration of pharmaceutical care services. Possesses and maintains the respect of the staff and functions as a facilitator in a team-based environment. Clearly and effectively articulates in a timely fashion the mission, goals, directions, critical issues, and values of Geisinger to the employees who work within the respective area of responsibility. Ensures compliance to policy and procedures in work conduct. As importantly, the System Director must effectively communicate the opinions, concerns, and suggestions of the management staff up the chain of command to the VP, Enterprise Pharmacy/Chief Pharmacy Officer. Must maintain a comprehensive and long-range system view of Geisinger’s strategic plan, which constantly seeks to identify and take advantage of opportunities to improve the health and wellness of the patients and families served by Geisinger. Effective accomplishment of these goals and objectives will require a close cooperative relationship with physicians and administrators throughout Geisinger and its affiliates. Performs duties to provide the highest level of patient care and maximize patient satisfaction.
Mutually agreed upon goals and objectives will be established and reviewed on a yearly basis.
Reports directly to the VP of Enterprise Pharmacy/ Chief Pharmacy Officer.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy or Doctorate of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) from an accredited college and current licensure by Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy required.
Master’s degree or obtained within 2 years of position assignment.
Minimum of 10 years’ experience as a Pharmacist, including at least 5 years in a pharmacy management role required. Board certification or equivalent clinical pharmacy experience required.
