The Division Director shall serve as the administrative and clinical lead for the Division of General Internal Medicine and shall foster a culture of excellence in the missions of clinical care, research and education. -
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:-Physician�s responsibilities shall include, but not be limited to the following:-� Provide administrative and clinical oversight of the Division of General Internal Medicine-� Provide direct patient care in the outpatient and inpatient setting, as well as build on current outstanding outreach network and strengthen ties statewide.-� Direct Fellowship Programs by selection, teaching, and compliance with ACGME standards.-� Sets strategic goals for the Division of and implements plans and timelines to meet goals-� Maintain highest quality and safety across division consistent with clinical standards driven by qualitative and quantitative clinical outcomes. -� Responsible for the implementation of divisional plans and day to day outcomes, will provide direct clinical care, clinical administrative duties and QA/QI activities.-� Implement any changes in evidence based protocols that ensure quality patient care.-� Develop research protocols that enhance clinical management of primary care patients.-� Coordinate research, symposium, grand rounds and any other academic activities that elevate the knowledge within the community, locally and nationally.-� Raise awareness of our health care teams� expertise in primary care management.-� Provide lectures to the medical community, the patients and general public on internal medicine services.-� Ensure the safety and comfort of patients and staff by immediately communicating the presence of hazards, injuries, equipment problems or any need of help.-� Communicate to referring physicians in a timely manner concerning condition of respective patients
