Under the general supervision of the Phlebotomy Coordinator, thePhlebotomist (aka Phlebotomist) assumes theresponsibility for performing venipunctures, capillary blood specimencollections, point of care testing (POCT), and related proceduresunder the philosophy, policies and procedures established by thehospital and the Department of Laboratory Services. The Phlebotomist,under the guidance of the Phlebotomy Coordinator, will assist in thetraining and guidance of phlebotomy students and new employees. Theseresponsibilities encompass the internal functioning of the Departmentand the integration of the Department into the overall functioning ofNorthwest Texas Healthcare System.
