The Professional Nurse is responsible for the supervision, direction, implementation and evaluation of quality patient care during the assigned work hours.
Management of patient care in the CCU or Acute Care Unit according to the nursing process to include assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. Actively participates in the promotion of quality patient care.
Leadership abilities are demonstrated in functioning as a professional role model, consumer relations and communications skills, problem solving and decision making and assistance in orienting and training personnel.
Collaborates with other healthcare providers to coordinate the patient’s plan of care.
Assumes responsibility for ensuring continued professional growth.
Participates in the Department’s QPI plan.
Serves on Hospital committees and participates in committee evaluation processes as necessary.

Previous Critical Care nursing experience is desirable.
Previous Medical Surgical nursing experience is preferred.
Membership in professional organization preferred.

Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
C)Licensure, Certification & Registration
Current Pennsylvania license as a registered professional nurse (RN) or Pennsylvania temporary practice permit required or has applied for licensure examination.
BLS certification required.
ACLS certification required within six months of hire.
PALS certification required within six months of hire.
Required to work flexible shifts and hours in order to accommodate the needs of patients on a daily basis.
