The Dietary Aide duties are as follows: â-� Food is placed on the serving line on timeÂ â-� Is aware of appropriate food items to be served to patients and refers toÂ â-� Greets and converses with patients, staff and guests in keeping with effective customer serviceÂ â-� Assures there are plenty of eating utensils, trays, napkins, cups, and anyÂ â-� Other items needed by customers of the cafeteriaÂ â-� Is pleasant and helpful when responding to guest needsÂ â-� Follows sanitary guidelines as established by supervisor and regulatory agenciesÂ â-� Covers, labels, and dates all suitable leftovers for storageÂ â-� Provides customer service to the point in which cafeteria guests comment positively on the service provided them during meal timesÂ â-� Is always extremely neat and clean while serving meals projecting a positive image for the dietary departmentÂ â-� Has an exceptional grasp of regulatory guidelines and implements the procedures with ease and minimal direction.Â â-� Food is presented on serving line in a very aesthetically pleasing manner.Â â-� Washes dishes, trays, and utensils promptly and thoroughly.Â â-� Checks water temp. to assure compliance with health and safety standards.Â â-� Washes pots and pans promptly and thoroughly.Â â-� Cleans tables and dining area adequately after meals as assigned.Â â-� Takes down and cleans serving line promptly after meals.Â â-� Sweeps and mops kitchen as necessary.Â â-� Properly cleans and sanitizes work area and equipment.Â â-� Promptly removes trash as assigned.Â â-� Takes and records temp of refrigerator.Â â-� Adequately performs other cleaning activities as assigned by dietary supervisor.Â â-� Readily utilizes any extra time while on duty to perform cleaning tasks.Â â-� On own initiative organizes cleaning projects.Â â-� Promptly receives deliveries when notified of their arrival.Â â-� Is polite and helpful to delivery people.Â â-� Follows correct procedures when putting delivered items in their proper storage place.Â â-� Stores items in a timely manner.Â â-� Effectively monitors the use of supplies and notifiesÂ supervisor when supplies are limited.Â â-� Voluntarily assists supervisor in maintaining a written inventory of supplies.Â â-� Recommends cost conscious methods of utilizing and ordering supplies.Â â-� Independently organizes or re-organizes supplies and materials.Â â-� Alerts supervisor to need for replenishing inventory.Â â-� Slices and chops items as assigned for the cooks to use in meal preparation.Â â-� Places dessert items in serving containers to be placed on serving line.Â â-� Prepares other items such as salads and beverages.Â â-� Sets up buffet lines or salad bar when used.Â â-� Stocks galleys on units with juice, milk and snack items.Â â-� Is cooperative and prepares other items or assists in other means when asked.Â â-� Takes pride in the presentation of food and assure it always appears attractive.Â â-� Volunteers to prepare other food items and cook particular dishes from time to time.Â â-� Consistently performs tasks before being asked.Â EOE.
