ResponsibilitiesThe David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA is engaged in the largest medical school curriculum redesign in over a decade. This substantive curricular change will better align our current program with our goals as an academic institution. We intend to ensure that graduates of the David Geffen School of Medicine are easily distinguished from other medical school graduates by the fact that our graduates will have a commitment to medicine as well as a commitment to a special area of expertise-be it research, public or community health, public policy, business administration, or more. The Curriculum Redesign Project Manager will play a key role in this process over the next 18 months. The Project Manager will directly report to the Vice Dean for Education, with additional input form the Associate and Assistant Deans for Curricular Affairs, as well as the Curriculum Redesign Steering Committee. The Project Manager will have primary responsibility for strategic tasks related to the planning, development, implementation, and management of the new MD curriculum. This will include support for the Steering Committee and all Subcommittees, assessment and review of all proposed initiatives, resource planning, documentation, and integration of all approved initiatives and development of a strategic implementation timeline. This is an 18 month, fixed-term position.
QualificationsAdvanced degree in education and/or health or social sciences strongly preferred Experience and/or familiarity with medical education. Experience with curriculum development. Project management experience. Ability to adapt to a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to independently prioritize work and multi-task. Demonstrated excellent organizational skills. Ability to take initiative and ownership of projects. Ability to communicate both orally and in writing. Ability to routinely and independently exercise sound judgment in making decisions. Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team.
