La Paloma Treatment Center is currently seeking a Director of Intake and Utilization to oversee the processes and staff on the Intake and Utilization teams. The Director will be responsible for the creation and implementation of new ideas and concepts that continually improve the intake system and process to achieve superior customer service. Key Responsibilities include:
Accountable for the 24-hour delivery of the Intake Department consistent with the mission of the organization. Directly observes intakes, reviews records and reports and communicates with staff and patients to assure the effective delivery of intakes. Takes action promptly when necessary to maintain quality of intakes.
Responsible for implementation and compliance with department policies and procedures; which define how intakes are assessed, assigned, evaluated and met during pre-admission, initial diagnosis, planning for levels of care (LOC), initial treatment planning and pre-certification processes.
Completes intake assessment, admissions precertifications and continuing care reviews as needed. Supervises staff completing these core functions.
Maintains accurate daily census records.
Provides direction and training for all intake and utilization staff.
Maintains policies and practice formulation that considers the individual strengths, needs and preferences of patients served.
Maintains professional relations with staff and external customers.
Communicates and collaborates with nursing department to facilitate a safe and efficient transition of patient into the treatment milieu.
Participates in on-going interdepartmental assessment and provides innovative, responsible dual diagnosis care.
Supervises medical record documentation methods for the Intake Department. Audits records to monitor compliance and standards of care.
Responsible for the accurate collection of patient co-pays, deductibles and all other out-of-pocket, cash collections (i.e. full self-pay payment plans), at the time of admission.
Works collaboratively with the Call Center staff, Utilization Review staff, Facility Leaders and direct care staff. Assures information is communicated effectively internally as well as externally to patients, families and referral sources.
Performs all other duties as required or assigned.

Ability to consistently demonstrate through conduct and communications the stability required to effectively assist patients and their family members through the FRN Model of Treatment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
Proven leadership skills.
Must have high level of interpersonal skills. Position continually requires demonstrated professionalism, clinical skill and integrity.
Must have strong knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Demonstrates ability to manage people which includes planning, decision making and facilitating process improvements; takes responsibility for subordinates' activities; makes self available to staff and provides regular performance feedback.
Understands need for and maintains appropriate confidentiality at all times when interacting with patients, residents, families, visitors, referral sources and all other contacts.
Ability to process direct admissions as needed.
Exhibits excellent customer relation skills as evidenced by supportive and constructive communication with all contacts including coworkers, patients, residents, visitors, families and referral sources.
Must possess a current, valid driver's license and be in good standing.
