MASS has a unique opportunity for the seasoned executive or administrator in the field of organ transplantation and/or donation. As the Senior Director of Healthcare and Non-Profit Management at MASS, the Senior Director will be the primary interface with our non-profit, statewide transplant clients with a focus on the kidney transplant consortium (NYKidney), while also having the opportunity to grow with MASS as it develops relationships as a prime healthcare contractor at the federal, state and local levels. The Senior Director will be primarily responsible for supporting the mission of the transplant consortia by overseeing and informing the daily work and execution of the organizations’ missions across a diverse array of projects and staff. Reporting to the MASS Principal, the Senior Director will be the primary interface to key MASS functions (such as project management and operations) to ensure the transplant consortia’s fiscal and operational excellence and external brand recognition. In addition, the Senior Director will oversee strategic partnerships with external organizations, advisors, and other transplant consortia stakeholders. Finally, this role will also oversee complex and multi-year projects and will be a visible external spokesperson for the organization.
Duties & Responsibilities
Manage overall day-to-day operations of NYKidney to ensure fiscal and operational excellence
Engage with Principal and Marketing, Communications, Data Analytic and other consultants to complete transplant consortia work externally
Support Principal to engage external partners – vendors, Standing Committees, mission-connected affiliates, etc. – in quarterly meetings and day-to-day interactions for NYKidney
Lead strategic work on behalf of NYKidney, including project conceptualization, budget and management oversight, and delivery of high-quality outputs
Represent NYKidney to policymakers and for-profit and non-profit partners
Safeguard and keep any information, observations, or viewpoints regarding MASS business and employee matters confidential
Other duties as assigned
Strong management and matrix working skills
Comfort in speaking publicly and to media
Ability to conceptualize and oversee multiple projects and work assignments
Minimum 10 years of experience in one or more of the following areas: health policy, medical research, and/or public health; transplant clinical or administrative experience a plus
Experience in state and federal contract management preferred
Preference for individuals with previous leadership experience in non-profits, specifically patient organizations
Comfort in working with remote staff and clients
Brilliant troubleshooting skills
Excellent communication skills
Able to work occasional evenings as needed for remote meetings
Desire to work in a challenging, fast-paced environment
Ability to travel at least 20% of time, including statewide travel and occasional travel within the US
Working Conditions & Travel Requirements
This position will work in a professional office environment. This person will also be required to travel occasionally to other offices and/or venues to assist with events as needed. International along with domestic travel is possible.
