Job Summary The Retail Operations Assistant assists in managing the retail operations of the Auxiliary-North Mountain campus. This includes, but is not limited to, the gift shop at North Mountain and the Treasure Trove thrift shop and any special vendor sales deemed necessary throughout the year. Responsibilities include assisting the Manager with: buying, pricing, displaying and selling quality merchandise at reasonable prices for the convenience of patients, visitors and employees and accurate fiscal accounting. Responsibilities at the thrift shop operation include maximizing their fund-raising capabilities while at the same time providing the valuable service to members of our community to afford the dignity of purchasing needed items at reasonable prices.
Assists Manager in daily operations of the gift shop and North Mountain Community Thrift Store.
Price and display appropriate merchandise as demonstrated by documentation and feedback.
Maintain adequate inventory as demonstrated by annual reports and profit levels.
Assist to maintain accurate financial records as demonstrated by documentation.
Assist to build positive relationships with vendors as demonstrated by documentation
Work closely with manager and Volunteer Coordinator of retail operations in managing shops and supervising volunteers.
Support the Volunteer Coordinator in absence of Manager.
Assist in staffing and training of volunteers as directed
Maintain close communications with Retail Operations Manager and the Director of Volunteer Services regarding the gift shops and planned special projects.
Assist in maintaining accurate monthly and annual reports to be submitted as demonstrated by documentation.
Consistent attendance at staff meetings will be maintained as demonstrated by documentation.
Intra-departmental teamwork will be a priority
Assist with financial accountabilities for all aspects of the retail operation for the Auxiliary.
Will work with Manager of Retail Operations on these accountabilities.
