JOB DESCRIPTION:Â Â The purpose of the Dietary Aide is to ensure the delivery of healthy, desirable, and cost effective dietary services to patients, staff, and guests of the organization.
JOB RESPONSIBLITIES:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
Politely greets and serves meals to all cafeteria customers; ensures food is placed on the serving line in a timely manner.
Cleans work area as necessary or assigned ensuring the dining area is kept clean after and during meal times.
Accepts and reconciles deliveries; puts away stock; monitors the use of supplies and notifies supervisor when supplies are limited.
Assists the cook and dietary supervisor in food preparation; sets up buffet lines or salad bars.
Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:Â High School Diploma. Experience working in a kitchen with equipment such as knives, slicers, mixers, and dishwashers is a plus.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
Ability to perform assignments with minimal supervision;
Ability to work successfully under highly stressful conditions;
Ability to make sound, independent judgments based on scientific and/or ethical principles;
Capability of adapting to varying workloads and work assignments on a constant basis;
Effective comprehensive reading skills, strong communication skills - both written and verbal.
This candidate must also have knowledge of the essential hygiene factors involved in preparation, cleansing products and the appropriate methods of cleansing a variety of surfaces.
The ability to read, convert, and adjust mathematical measurements for assisting in recipe adjustments is also required.
