The Rehabilitation Hospital of Wisconsin (RHOW) is a state-of-the-art, 40-bed Inpatient Acute Rehabilitation Hospital that is dedicated to restoring lives. We are a result of the joint venture/partnership between ProHealth Care and Kindred Healthcare to meet the growing rehabilitation needs of the region.
RHOW specializes in treating patients with many diagnoses, including, but not limited to, stroke, brain injury, amputation, neurological and cardiac disorders. In 2016, RHOW has received Joint Commission Disease Specific Specialization in Stroke and Amputee Rehabilitation.
The Nurse Manager functions under the direction and supervision of the Chief Clinical Officer and assumes responsibility for the Nursing Department. The NM, in collaboration with the CCO and leadership team, assists to implement, interpret and assure compliance with policies and procedures including regulatory and accreditation standards. The Nurse Manager directly supervises the nurses, CNAs and clinical supervisors and is responsible for implementing hospital goals and objectives based on budget parameters. The NM reinforces the mission and vision of the hospital in all interactions. Although a mostly Monday through Friday position, some flexibility is required.
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
Performs management activities including interviewing, hiring, evaluating, counseling, and performance evaluations of staff in the nursing department.
Following up on incident reports
Promoting rehabilitation nursing philosophy and practice; encourages staff development, including acquisition of CRRN for qualified registered nurses
Assists with payroll completion and ensuring PTO, time worked and lunches taken are accurately captured in Kronos
Assures occurrence of appropriate documentation, including documentation of medical necessity, by staff in medical records; monitors completion and revisions to the Interdisciplinary Care Plan.
Reinforces education and training is provided to nursing staff on Functional Independent Measure (FIM); assures timely and accurate FIM assessments and scoring are performed.
Current RN licensure in the state. Master's degree preferred.
