UT Health San Antonio is seeking an outstanding full-time Program Director – Medical Laboratory Sciences to direct the MLS education team in the Department of Health Sciences (DHS) in the School of Health Professions (SHP).
The Program Director of Medical Laboratory Sciences, in collaboration with and under the supervision of the department chairperson, will oversee the administrative operation of the programs and provide leadership for teaching, research, service and clinical activities. The Program Director of Medical Laboratory Sciences will also guide student advisement, faculty development and ensuring program accreditation are expected, along with developing and implementing the strategic vision, goals, and objectives for the programs. Teaching responsibilities include upper division undergraduate and graduate lecture and laboratory courses in hematology, clinical chemistry, and other clinical specialties dependent on expertise and education.
The Department offers both the BS and entry-level MS in medical laboratory sciences.
Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s level of experience.

Applicants must have the following to be considered:
Professional U.S. certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist, MLS (ASCP), an earned Master of Science (MS) degree in MLS-appropriate discipline, and an earned doctorate in health sciences, education or a related area is preferred.
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in medical laboratory sciences including teaching and program administration in an academic-based NAACLS-accredited medical laboratory science education program.
Successful candidates will have a track record of achievement in education, demonstrated leadership in research and scholarship, and active participation in relevant professional associations.
