Witt/Kieffer has been retained by Penn Highlands Healthcare (PHH) to assist in the recruitment of their next Chief Financial Officer (CFO.) This is an exciting opportunity to join a high performance leadership team at Penn Highlands Healthcare and to lead the financial functions for a four hospital system headquartered in DuBois, Pennsylvania. The CFO role will become vacant effective July, 2017 due to the planned retirement of David McConnell who has effectively served as CFO for Penn Highlands Healthcare since its inception. Driving financial excellence at the system level to assist an evolving and growing system design and complete its assimilation and organizational alignment efforts will be the underpinning of the role for the next finance leader.
Reporting to system President and Chief Executive Officer, Steven Fontaine, the CFO will guide the organization to fulfill its mission, vision and strategic direction by facilitating discussions and initiatives aimed at elevating PHH’s performance characteristics and will oversee financial functions for the system. PHH seeks a dynamic, forward thinking financial executive to provide strategic and operational management for his/her areas of responsibility. This executive will be both collaborative and decisive, contributing broadly across the health system. The CFO will be a strong leader with a proven track record of leading high performing, service oriented organizations.

The CFO ideal candidate will be an experienced finance executive, preferably with experience in a successful, complex integrated delivery system or health system. This person must be a seasoned, contemporary finance executive with experience in the areas of finance, business operations, revenue cycle operations, strategic planning, managed and care contracting. The next CFO should have a highly collaborative management style with experience participating as an active member of his/her hospital’s senior management team. This candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in business administration, accounting/finance, or related area is required.
