The Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Division of Prevention and Public Health Sciences in the College of Dentistry at the University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking candidates for a full-time twelve-month in the tenured/tenure-track track faculty position at all levels to participate in managing the predoctoral community-based service-learning curriculum. The Division of Prevention and Public Health Sciences purpose is to raise the students’ knowledge and sensitivity to the oral health needs of the underserved in the state of Illinois and elsewhere and to acquaint students with the social, cultural, community, economic, health service system and political issues involved in meeting those needs.
Responsibilities include planning and delivering the program, oversight of the extramural clinics and evaluation of the program, and scholarly activity in clinical research. Candidates must have a DDS/DMD and MPH or equivalent, have an active dental license and/or be eligible for full licensure in Illinois. Diplomates of the American Board of Dental Public Health and candidates who have completed a CODA approved dental public health residency are highly preferred. Candidates with experience in research related oral health and dental public health issues are also preferred.
