Call For Applicants
The Phyllis F. Cantor Center for Research in Nursing and Patient Care Services and the Mittelman Family Fund at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI) is offering a unique opportunity for nurse investigators interested in a post-doctoral fellowship dedicated to the use, effectiveness, and outcomes of integrative, therapeutic interventions in the care of individuals with cancer.
The Cantor Center is the research center for a multidisciplinary department in an ambulatory cancer care setting affiliated with the Dana-Farber/Harvard Cancer Center. Our mission is to reduce the burden of cancer through scholarly inquiry and rigorous clinical research focused on the patient/family experience of living with a predisposition to, a diagnosis of, or survivorship of, cancer.
We seek to attract and train promising investigators in the field of integrative therapeutics and advance the knowledge of the effectiveness of these therapies through peer-reviewed, evidence-based research. The fellow will collaborate with nurse scientists and transprofessional mentors who have well-established records of conducting clinical research involving intervention and care of patients who are at risk for, or who have been diagnosed with, cancer. In addition to having the opportunity to work with research faculty across disciplines within DFCI and the Harvard Medical School community, the fellow will also have access to coursework, seminars, and research activities related to their research interests. This two-year position has a flexible start date. Applications accepted until March 31, 2017. Salary is competitive. All requirements of the doctoral degree must be completed before the fellowship appointment can begin. Successful candidates will have pre- doctoral publication activity and be encouraged to conduct mentored and independent research with an emphasis on data analysis, study inception, manuscript writing, and applying for grants. Candidates are asked to submit a letter of research interests, reprints/preprints of publications, C.V., and three names of individual references.
