The Hennepin County Human Services and Public Health department of Health and Human Services is seeking a Children & Family Services Director who will be responsible for the successful implementation of program services, policies, and procedures. The CFS Director oversees and is responsible for all functions of designated service programs. This position will report to the Director of Human Services.
This position is unclassified, full-time, and benefit earning. Unclassified positions are non-permanent (at will) and are not subject to HR law/rules. Salary is dependent upon qualifications and pending board approval.

The primary duties and responsibilities of this position may include:
Direct staff and operations of CFS including Child Protection, Adoption, Foster Care, Children's Mental Health, etc., to ensure that policies, standards and regulations are followed.
Coordinate and develop CFS goals, programs and services; identify unmet needs and define objectives, policies, or plans to meet those needs.
Develop and maintain close, cooperative relationships with the community and other public agencies involved in the work with the goal of working across public-private boundaries to improve outcomes for children and families. This includes:
Partnering with community organizations and being a visible presence at the table.
Ensuring CFS staff and community organizations are knowledgeable about what each other provides and how to leverage those programs and services.
Represent CFS as a media spokesperson to explain the work using plain language.
Work with the Chief Financial Officer and Human Services Director to develop and monitor budgets and expenditures.
