The UNM Department of Neurosurgery is excited to announce a joint venture with Lovelace Health Systems in which there will be a new residency program formed, a first of its kind in New Mexico. This new program is intended to meet the rapidly growing needs for rehab providers in the state.
This new endeavor will need a dynamic Program Director (faculty position – open rank) at the helm in order to ensure its success. Qualified candidates will have experience in providing leadership, operations management, and general administration of a PM&R program. They will have established strategic capabilities and a highly effective method of promoting an environment conducive to professional practice and medical evaluation. A vast knowledge of ACGME policies and procedures is a must. There are many other facets of this position but important areas to note will include the ability to develop an educational curriculum as defined by the ACGME program requirements, preparation of Internal Review documentation, generation of Program Agreements, confidential evaluations, maintaining enrollment status of program residents, and managing clinical scheduling of residents including on-call schedules and clinical rotations.
MD, DO or equivalent degree in PM&R
Four or more years faculty physician in an ACGME accredited PM&R Residency Training Program
Strong knowledge of ACGME program requirement
Must be eligible to work in the US
Previous position in a ACGME residency/fellowship program, educational administration/oversight of the program
Documentation of graduate medical education curriculum development
Five or more years of experience leading a residency or fellowship program
Proven operations management expertise
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Publication of educational advances in peer-reviewed journals
Experience starting a new ACGME residency or fellowship program
