The Clinical Educator II is responsible for facilitating the development of clinical excellence in assigned areas through active participation in campus/unit based orientation, training, on-going staff development. Designs, organizes, implements, and evaluates educational programs that facilitate the professional growth, skill development, initial/ongoing competence, and attainment of standards of care for direct care providers for assigned units. Education programs will be developed, implemented, and evaluated using nursing theory, nursing clinical expertise, standards of practice, and adult education principles. Actively participates and collaborates in multi-disciplinary unit, campus and system wide performance improvement teams to enhance patient safety, satisfaction, staff competence, and standards of care.
Education: Masters Degree in Nursing or Adult Education; at least one graduate degree in Nursing.
Experience: Previous experience in an approved specialty area in the acute care setting; formal or informal teaching experience preferred. In the Surgical Service Areas. (PACU, Pre Op, OR) Must have three years of RN experience in one of these area.
Training: AHA Basic Life Support current card for at least 90 days after hire date. ACLS, TNCC, ENPC or other as mandated by VP/Director, and completed by timeline given. Professional certification in a designated specialty is preferred, or Professional Nursing Development.
License: Current Florida RN Licensure
Other: Demonstrates a commitment to life-long learning. Membership in professional/academic organizations is preferred. Basic computer skills; MS Windows, MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel.
