Provides psychiatric nursing care and manages a caseload of patients with serious and persistent mental illness. Participates in unit and hospital-wide CQI activities. May act as a Charge Nurse in the absence of the Lead Partner.
1. Graduate of an accredited school of Nursing. Minimum of one – twos year experience in practice area, including charge nurse responsibility. 2. Current licensure in the State of Maryland Current CPR certification, fire/safety and infection control review at the time of or within 60-90 days of employment. Preceptor workshop certification or equivalent.I.V. 3. Certification Twenty (20) contact hours of continuing education within the previous twelve (12) months (16 clinical and 4 professional development) or evidence of the pursuit of higher education. Current knowledge and skill in Supportive One: One, and Group Nursing Sessions. 4. Current Knowledge and Skill in Crisis Management Current knowledge and skill in basic medical-surgical care delivery Completion of 4 patient care conferences and 2 in-services Computer literacy preferred.
