Candidate will have direct supervision and responsibility for day-to-day operations of Department of Orthopaedic Surgery with 25 residents, 11 faculty, 6 staff, 5 Fellows.
Candidate will be expected to improve the business processes through analysis and collaboration, become involved in long-term business planning at managerial and executive level, analyze the performance of support functions for the department such as human resources to make recommendations for improvement, work with faculty and staff to develop budgets for special programs; act as responsible individual for the approval of expenses.
Candidate will work with Chair to develop new programs in Sports Medicine, Orthopaedic Oncology, and Division of Trauma. Sports Medicine Program is new to the Department and is made possible by the addition of a Sports Medicine trained faculty member.
Candidate will be responsible for helping to develop and create a multidisciplinary approach for the treatment of osteoporosis. This will require cooperating with several disciplines within the University to provide effective treatment programs for osteoporosis.
Development of the Orthopaedic Oncology program, with the ultimate goal of establishing a Div. of Orthopaedic Oncology, will be another major responsibility of the Assistant to Chair for Finance and Administration. Both of these potentially new Divisions will require identification and recruitment of additional faculty in the respective divisions. In addition the recruitment of new faculty, the Assistant to Chair for Finance and Administration will be responsible for developing revenue streams to support these functions.
Master's degree in Business or related field and six years of related experience. Additional experience may be used on a one-to-one basis to offset the educational requirements. The university offers market competitive salary and benefits.
