Job Summary: The Medical Director is a Board Certified (or Board eligible) family practitioner who provides essential care of registered patients in the support for the RCMS health care system.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Administrative
Serve as chief clinician for RCMS.
Report to the Board of Directors on RCMS clinical activities and quality assurance.
Be responsible for the day to day coordination and supervision of RCMS clinicians.
Operate within the parameters of a written job description, which complies with RCMS personnel policies.
Make recommendations to the CEO regarding budget development for capital equipment or expansion and
improvement of clinical services.
Review and approve RCMS clinical programs as required by government or other funding sources.
In cooperation with the COO, establish appropriate systems, standards and protocols for an internal quality
assessment system to monitor patient care.
Clinical Management Activities
Coordinate and manage day to day patient care activities.
Select and discharge members of the medical team, in accordance with the RCMS personnel policies.
Complete annual performance evaluations for the medical team.
Supervise pharmacy and acquisition of pharmaceuticals.
Professional Liaison Activities
Establish linkages with public and private clinical referral sources including patient care.
Provide input to RCMS outreach program to coordinate activities designed to:
Promote community awareness of RCMS
Promote the communitys utilization of disease prevention and wellness programs.
OTHER ASSIGNED DUTIES
Attend monthly Administration meetings.
Hold regular provider meetings.
Review and approve duties and responsibilities of the medical team.
Coordinate continuing education and in-service training activities of the medical team.
Assure the implementation of the ongoing CQI program in coordination with the COO.
CMO must have a valid and unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of California.
Be a physician
Have a current DEA certificate.
Have current CPR, ACLS and PALS certification.
Successfully completed a residency training program and be board certified in a primary care specialty.
Have three or more years experiences in patient care and clinical management.
RCMS opened in 1977, was incorporated and licensed as a community clinic in 1978 and was designated in 1999 as a Federal Community Health Center 330(e).
