This position is located at the Erie VA Medical Centerand performs in the role of our Medical Director of Whole Health Program aligned under the Chief of Staff.

* The primary role of the Medical Director of the program will be to manage and plan how services are delivered and contribute to the process of strategic planning, influencing and responding to organizational priorities.
* Provide leadership to the Whole Health System.
* Assume a leadership role in the development and implementation of the Whole Health System's performance improvement plan.
* Advocate for the Whole Health System with VHA leadership and the medical community.
* Jointly select Whole Health System team members.
* Providing clinical input and oversight for all patient treatment plans.
* Participating in Whole Health System team meetings.
* Creating strategic partnerships with VHA facility program directors and service line chiefs.
* Provides direct line supervision to program coordinator/specialist for Whole Health System.

*Degree of doctor of medicine or an equivalent degree resulting from a course of education in medicine or osteopathic medicine. The degree must have been obtained from one of the schools approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the year in which the course of study was completed.
*Current, full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in a State, Territory, or Commonwealth of the United States, or in the District of Columbia.
*Completion of a residency training or its equivalent, approved by the Department of Veterans Affairs in an accredited core specialty training program leading to eligibility for board certification.
*Proficiency in spoken and written English.

BLS Certification through the American Heart Association is required prior to employment.
Preferred Experience: Board certification or eligibility inInternal Medicine, Family Practice or other specialty that meets the needs of the VA Health Care System for this position.
